Cavandela is a 606 hectare development project in the spectacular and protected Alentejo region of Portugal, which is situated between Lisbon and the Algarve. It is located on the outskirts of Castro Verde, an unspoilt white-walled Portuguese town. The area is famous for its unique wildlife and in particular its rare birds.
The resort will consist of 1,500 homes, a 36-hole golf course, two luxury hotels and a vibrant commercial centre. A small walled town will be created in the centre of Cavandela and this will form the true heart of the resort. Built around courtyards and ornamental gardens, it will recreate the ancient village lifestyle, but with all the modern luxuries that today's discerning residents expect.
The phrase 'returning to nature' will be the ethos upon which Cavandela is built. The surrounding area will be beautifully landscaped, with villas scattered across the rolling hills and around small lakes - whilst olive groves, vineyards and orchard fruit trees will be integrated into the resort to create a working countryside environment.
